About Chris

Chris Clayton – President

Chris lives in Mandeville, LA with his wife of 29 years, Duffy Apperson Clayton. They have three daughters: Rebekah, Meredith, and Katy. 

In his youth, Chris was an Eagle Scout. He began developing his teaching and leadership skills working as a camp counselor and aquatics instructor. He continues to develop his athletic gifts and still participates in basketball, swimming, tennis, and other sports. He has coached basketball and competitive swimming.

Chris graduated from East Jefferson High School in 1979. He continued his education at the University of New Orleans, graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

Chris worked as a manufacturer's representative for Unilever for 7 years. By using a value-based process, he was successful in closing business with almost 20 new Fortune 500 accounts. He founded Cornerstone Consulting, Inc. in 1995 and has consistently ranked in the top 2% of sales representatives for The Ohio National Life Insurance Company, a company in the top 20 (out of approximately 1200 companies) of life insurance sales in the United States.

Chris is a member and elder of Grace Harbor Family Church. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Northlake Christian School.

Licenses:

  • Chris is licensed for Life Insurance in: Louisiana (resident), Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington. 
  • Series 65 Securities License: This is a securities license that allows the holder to charge a fee for rendering financial advice.

Awards:

  • Three-time recipient of the Ohio National Financial Services Council of Honor.
  • Five-time qualifier for the Ohio National Financial Services “Wall of Fame." This means that Chris is recognized as being among the top 1% of the field representatives for the company.
  • Member of the American Funds “All American Team." 
  • Served as the Ohio National Field Advisory Board as Marketing Chairman in 2008, Vice President in 2009, and President in 2010. The Field Advisory Board served as a liaison between the 32 billion dollar financial company and their 12,000 representatives.
  • Chris was a nationally recognized guest speaker at conventions and regional sales conferences for Ohio National Financial Services. Speaking engagements include: Austin, Baton Rouge, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Little Rock, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, and Tulsa.
